News flash: Scarlett Johansson is engaged to her journalist beau!

The Oscar-nominated actress is planning to tie the knot with Romain Dauriac, E! News confirmed Wednesday, noting that the proposal occurred about a month ago, he offered up a vintage Art Deco ring and they are both "very happy." Johansson's rep added, "They haven't chosen a date for the wedding."

What a couple of under-the-radar types!

Back in July, right around the time her rep said that she was "not engaged or close to being engaged," a source close to Johansson insisted that a diamond and ruby ring she was wearing was "simply a piece of jewelry."

Meanwhile, Dauriac was on the red carpet with his Versace-clad, ring-flashing fiancée at the Venice Film Festival yesterday, where they attended the premiere of Johansson's latest movie, Under the Skin.

The betrothed couple went public in November 2012, not long after Johansson ended a roughly year-long relationship with Nate Naylor.

She and Ryan Reynolds divorced in July 2011 after almost three years of marriage. He tied the knot with Blake Lively last September.

Johansson also let go of her one-bedroom bachelorette pad in Hollywood in July for $470,000 after owning it for nearly a decade, perhaps an indicator that she was going to be in need of more space on a more permanent basis.

It's all making sense now...

But which came first, the ring or the real estate transaction?

Johansson told Elle UK in December that she "never" thought about marriage.

"It's really not important to me," she said. "The only time I ever think about it is when people ask me, 'Would I get married again?'

"I'm not having kids anytime soon," she added. "I'm in a nice relationship, I'm working a lot and, like I said, it's not important to me."

Well, it's important to someone. Congratulations to the happy couple!
