Is Rick busting out of prison…or is someone breaking in?
The Walking Dead has released the official key art for season four (premiering Sunday, Oct. 13), and it looks like our fearless hero Rick (Andrew Lincoln) is either breaking out of the prison they now call home, or anticipating a mob of walkers about to break in. Either way, the photo looks rather ominous. But then again, aren't most things on Walking Dead tinged with dread?
In a related note, those Walking Dead fans who yearn to dive deep into the world and themes surrounding a zombie invasion are in luck! AMC, Instructure and the University of California–Irvine have recently announced a Walking Dead online course titled "Society, Science, Survival: Lessons from AMC's The Walking Dead." The eight-week course will explore such topics as the role of public health in society, the spread of infectious diseases, nutrition in a post-apocalyptic world and managing stress in a disaster situation.
"Fans of the show know that The Walking Dead is about more than zombies; it's about survival, leadership and adapting to situations that are perilous and uncertain," Theresa Beyer, vice president of promotions and activation at AMC, said in a statement. "There is clearly a growing appetite for engagement with The Walking Dead, and we hope this online course will drive a deep, sustained connection with the show during its upcoming fourth season and offer a legitimate educational experience that can be applied even more broadly."
