An insider has confirmed to E! News that the expectant couple is having a son. "They're both thrilled," the source tells E! News.
The big baby gender news comes just over a month after news broke that the X Factor judge and the New York socialite were pregnant. At the time, Silverman was still legally married to her ex-husband Andrew Silverman, a good friend of Cowell's.
"I'm proud to be a dad," Cowell told the BBC at One Direction's This Is Us movie premiere in his first interview about his impending fatherhood. "It's something I haven't thought of before, and then, now I know I feel good about it. And she's [Silverman] a very special girl."
Since the baby news broke, Cowell and Silverman have been spotted traveling together all over the globe. Just the other week, they were spotted kissing in the streets of St. Tropez looking as happy as could be.
And just yesterday, Cowell (who recently received an adorable X Factor onesie perfect for his son) dished, "I am good with kids, because I like kids. I really do like them and I listen to them...Once I got used to [becoming a father] I did get excited. I think I will be a good dad, so I'm excited."
A rep for Cowell did not immediately respond for comment.
