Some things you need to see to believe!
Simon Cowell got uncharacteristically emotional during an interview with The Times of London newspaper earlier today.
The soon-to-be father opened up about seeing the first picture of his baby through a sonogram scan.
"It is just surreal," he said. "You literally see this thing which is now alive and moving around."
And he didn't end there. It looks like the 53-year-old couldn't hold back his excitement for his future arrival.
"I feel very paternal right now. So I am very happy," he explained.
But the music mogul is predicting that changing diapers and singing lullabies won't ultimately change his less-than warm persona.
"I can assure you: I won't go soft," he said laughing.
Cowell first broke his silence on the baby news back in August when he told BBC at the London premiere of One Direction: This Is Us that "things are changing in my life right now, for the better.
"I'm proud to be a dad," he added to BBC's reporter when asked about the recent baby news. "It's something I haven't thought of before, and then, now I know I feel good about it. And she's [Silverman] a very special girl."
While at the premiere, Cowell also hinted at his impending fatherhood, saying of One Direction, "This is a dream. I feel like a father."
News that Cowell and Lauren Silverman are expecting their first child together broke back at the end of July. Silverman and her ex Andrew Silverman reached a divorce settlement just last week.
