Scarlett Johansson is putting her stamp of approval on who she thinks would make the best next President of the United States.
The actress, who graces the cover of the October issue of Harper's Bazaar U.K., explained that Hillary Clinton was the ideal candidate.
"I think Hillary Clinton would make a wonderful president. I think we could only benefit from having someone in office who has been a mother; women have a different perspective and appreciation of humanity because of that maternal instinct."
She added, "It can only be a step forward."
The blond beauty also revealed the reasons behind being so active in Barack Obama's reelection campaign saying, "It would be irresponsible not to. I come from a politically active family. To be an active member of the community, to be a responsible citizen and to engage politically have always been part of my awareness and part of my life.
"More than anything else, I believe that if everyone exercised the right to vote, the right choice would be made by the nation as a whole."
And since she's so well-read on the subject of politics, is there another career in the wings for the film star?
"That seems like a stretch," she said. "But who knows? I don't limit the possibilities. If I have more time, I may be able to lend a bigger voice to politics. I never close the door on those kinds of things."
That doesn't sound like an outright no to us!
So when the 28-year-old isn't busy being politically involved and making movies, she's dreaming up what's in store for her in the years to come.
"Eventually I want to have a family, and that would be my focus, but right now I'm having fun with it. There have been times in my career where I've struggled to find...I was stuck for a while," she explained.
"It was more difficult, maybe, to find the right thing to do. Now I'm enjoying a really productive, creative period."
