"Dear Selena Gomez," Kelly tweeted Tuesday, Aug. 27, "you are by far one of the most beautiful, sexy, classy things on this planet. #Goddidgood #texasgirls"
To be fair, Kelly didn't specifically identify which VMA performers she viewed as "pitchy strippers." But given that (unfortunately) none of the male acts showed any skin, we have to assume she was referring to a female act. Katy Perry was modestly dressed for her performance of "Roar," wearing a sports bra and showing just a bit of her toned tummy, whereas Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus were wearing a bit less clothing.
Gaga wore a seashell bikini and thong—nothing really too new or scandalous for her, though. Miley, on the other hand/foam finger, stripped down to flesh-colored latex lingerie and twerked and danced quite suggestively during her performance with Robin Thicke.
As for Selena? Well, she looked stunning in a tasteful yet sexy Versace gown. She didn't seem to be bothered, though, by Miley's attention-grabbing antics onstage. In fact, she and BFF Taylor Swift were singing and dancing along from the audience! They did appear a bit surprised—impressed, perhaps!—at one point, but there was no anti-Miley sentiment going on whatsoever coming from her fellow Disney alum.
Remember, though, y'all: She was just being Miley!
