When it comes to tennis, Venus Williams rules the court, so it's no surprise that the inspiring athlete also knows how to wow the crowd with her cool style, too.
At the U.S. Open this week, Williams sported vibrant purple locks twisted into a gorgeous braid—a fresh look that begged to be noticed.
Best of all, the bold hairstyle served up some extra good luck: she won the match and advanced to the next round!
Wondering how you can score a similar sporty style?
We tapped stylist Julien Farel, the guru behind the hairstyles at the U.S. Open, to get the beauty breakdown for real women.
He demonstrated how to achieve the perfect ponytail that's feminine and flirty, but totally functional too.
First, he smoothed hair with a small dollop of gel to tame flyaways and secured it in a classic ponytail.
Then he pulled a small section of hair out from the base and wrapped around the rubber band and secured with a bobby pin for a stylish touch that's simple to pull off.
Lastly, he braided the ponytail and tied it off with a rubber band.
And there you have it—a winning hairstyle for every occasion this summer!
What do you think of Venus Williams' hair?
