'N Sync Reunion Sparks Talk of JC Chasez Comeback

Exclusive! Singer approached about reigniting singing career

We're not holding our breath for an 'N Sync reunion tour, but that doesn't mean all hope is lost.

I just got word that the group's performance at the MTV VMAs has sparked interested in reigniting  JC Chasez's singing career.

Chasez and his camp have apparently been receiving non-stop phone calls about getting him into the studio to record his own music or to team up with other artists, according to an industry source.

"Everyone saw that he can sing his ass off still, he looks great and he can dance," the source says. "They remembered that he has an amazing voice, that he was 'N Sync's soul guy."

Chasez and Justin Timberlake were considered the lead singers of their now-defunct boy band. While J.T. has gone on to build his own mini entertainment empire in the spotlight, Chasez has spent more behind the scenes afer releasing his own solo album, Schizophrenia, in 2004 with 'N Sync's label Jive Records. After splitting from Jive, he dropped two singles online.

"He has more music that he never released," the source said.

Timberlake gushed over Chasez's vocal chops to MTV News in 2006 after helping to produce tracks on Schizophrenia. "In my opinion, [JC] had the best voice out of all of us," he said. "Out of all the boy bands, call 'em what you will, he was the one that could out-sing all of us."

Since going into "singing retirement," Chasez has produced and written for David Archuleta, Backstreet Boys, British band McFly. He also served as a judge on Randy Jackson's America's Best Dance Crew on MTV for seven seasons before it was cancelled last year.

Chasez is currently working on launching an all-girl group called Girl Radical.

Sounds like the 'N Sync reunion is just the jolt Chasez may have need to get him back on stage.

"Two minutes after seeing everybody you feel like no time has passed," he said on Monday morning on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show. "Essentially everybody has remained the same. And again, we all see each other at different times, working on different things, but this is the first time that we had a rehearsal together in over 10 years. So everybody's going, 'Can we go through this slowly one more time?'

"That part was pretty funny," he added, "But...30 minutes from the rehearsal, everything is memory, muscle memory, and everything started to click, and before you know it we were good to go."
