Jordin Sparks and Jason Derulo are still not engaged. At least not yet.

"When the time is right, it will be right," Derulo told E! News when the subject came up as the cute couple walked the red carpet at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.

However, the "Ridin' Solo" singer did seem to suggest it may actually happen sooner than later.

While talking about his new single, "Marry Me," Derulo admitted, "It is about Jordin, actually, and it's talking about how amazing it will be when I get down on one knee and it will be the greatest moment of my life."

He continued to gush, saying, "You can't fake anything because true love is true love, and that's the basis of our relationship."

Aww.

Meanwhile, Sparks, who won the sixth season of American Idol back in 2007, was naturally asked about former A.I. judge Simon Cowell awaiting the arrival of his first child with Lauren Silverman.

"I think Simon needs a little butt-kicking of his own," Sparks said with a smile. "A child is a blessing, but he has lots of work ahead. He is great and he is very kind."

As for Derulo's "baby" (his upcoming album, that is), it's scheduled to drop next month.
