When we first heard the concept behind the product (instead of drinking coffee, spray caffeine on your neck!), it sounded like the worst idea ever. After investigating a bit more, it sounds like only maybe the worst idea.

Deven Soni and Ben Yu, two Harvard grads who "struggle with caffeine sensitivity," turned to crowd funding site IndieGoGo (a site similar to Kickstarter) and raised the $15,000 they asked for in only 24 hours. With 40 days left, they're now at $17,000.
The product: "Our revolutionary spray gives you energy through your skin without the jitters, crash, chemicals, & cost of other caffeinated products," the page reads.
In a video, the duo explain that they partnered with a PhD in chemistry to create Sprayable Energy, which contains no calories, no sugars, no questionable ingredients and supposedly doesn't give you the jitters or shakes you might encounter elsewhere.
"Our active ingredient is caffeine, which can actually enter your system naturally, just in small doses," Deven Soni says. In the section titled "How The F$%^ Does It Work?", they expand on the idea: "When you spray on your skin, the caffeine permeates the skin and enters circulation at a steady rate gradually over time."
It continues, "Can't stand the rollercoaster ride of jitters and crashes you get from energy drinks and coffee? Sprayable Energy is for you. By going straight through the skin to circulation, we're able to eliminate a ton of the disadvantages that come with the traditional ways to get your energy."
Also, from only our observations, it seems like one easy way you could avoid the crash is by just spraying yourself nonstop and being cracked out on caffeine all the time. One bottle contains the equivalent of 40 cups of coffee. Which brings up a secondary point: What happens if you accidentally spill it on yourself?!
Soni and Yu uploaded a testimonial video, though it unfortunately does not show anyone actually using the product and reacting. It does contain a girl who says one of the main advantages of the product is that it's portable, which is good because she lives in the woods.
If anything, it's an interesting product. Unrelated: It's a product that would make for a great episode of Shark Tank. But what do you say, are you interested in spraying on your caffeine, or will you just stick to coffee and Red Bull?
