It looks as if an alleged altercation between Kanye West and a paparazzo last month is about to become a legal matter.

A news conference is scheduled to take place later today in Los Angeles, during which time the videographer's lawyer, high-profile attorney Gloria Allred, will announce the filing of a lawsuit against West, Allred's office revealed in a press release on Tuesday.

The videographer who claims to have been attacked by the rapper also plans to speak.

According to the press release, the incident was captured on videotape and will be played at the news conference.

On July 19, West had just landed at Los Angeles International Airport when roughly five paparazzi reportedly surrounded him.

Photos show West getting physical with one cameraman, though it's unclear what prompted the behavior.

While LAX police confirmed to E! News at the time that an incident had occurred, they could not confirm West was involved because "the alleged suspect left the scene" before they arrived.

The police issued a statement that said "LAFD was notified, responded to the location and transported the victim to a local hospital for medical attention. A police report was taken by the Los Angeles Police Department and the investigation is ongoing."
