When it comes to shopping for the fall season, we're all for versatile pieces that will pair well with pretty much anything in your closet, which is why we're such a fan of the military look right now.

From camo-printed skinny jeans and tailored trench coats to leather combat boots and heavy duty satchel bags, this accessible trend is commanding our attention in a major way.

Designers like Michael Kors, Rachel Roy, Charlotte Ronson, Rebecca Minkoff and Prabal Gurung showed a strong military influence in their fall 2013 collections, featuring chic looks like posh fur coats, oversize outwear, sleek trouser pants, heavy hardware and olive green everything!

Rihanna, among other fashion-savvy stars, has been quick to jump on the edgy look, wearing camouflage leggings, crop tops and jackets in recent street style sightings, paired with funky accessories for a personal touch.

Red lipstick packs a powerful punch to the look, and adds a flirtatious vibe to the otherwise masculine theme.

When it comes to selecting military-inspired pieces for your fall wardrobe, look for simple separates that can easily fold into your current closet, without adding too much shock value.

Gold metalwork on handbags, clutches, watches and jewelry make for simple statement pieces, while black leather trim on jackets, pants and footwear adds a modern, luxe appeal for every fashionista.
