Every once in a while, a TV couple will steal our hearts and make us fall head over heels in love with them. And for fans growing up with the cult classic Boy Meets World, Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel) are our perfect match.
With the highly anticipated Disney Channel reboot Girl Meets World fully in the works, we're excited to announce that Cory and Topanga's darling daughter will be getting a love interest of her own! Now the only question is will this couple be the next generation's epic love story? Plus, meet the adorable 5-year-old who will be playing Cory and Topanga's son!
So who is the lucky fella who will be romancing Riley Matthews (Rowan Blanchard) in her hallowed middle school halls? Fourteen-year-old Peyton Meyer (pictured above) is set to play Tristan Friar, Riley's classmate and first crush. Awww!
Based off of the picture it looks like Riley's BFF (aka our new Shawn Hunter) Maya Hart (Sabrina Carpenter) approves of the match. Hmmm, we wonder how Cory, who's a history teacher in Riley's school, will react upon learning that his daughter is having flirtations with a boy?
And speaking of boys, we've got another exciting Girl Meets World casting tidbit to share with you. Get excited because the Matthews family has officially expanded! The powers that be at Disney have finally cast the adorable young actor who will be playing Cory and Topanga's son.
Five-year-old August Maturo will be playing Riley's little bro, Louis. It's all actually happening and we're so happy we can hardly see straight!
Creator Michael Jacobs said in a statement in June that he is thrilled to introduce this new series to the world. "Girl Meets World is a new show for a new generation that will be rooted in the same kind of honest, comedic storytelling about coming of age and the importance of family and friendship that made Boy Meets World so popular."
Girl Meets World will premiere on Disney Channel in 2014.
