The world got a first glimpse of Prince George when mom and dad carried him out of St. Mary's Lindo Wing on July 23, 2013. Since then, though, we haven't seen too much of the royal baby.
But, we don't have to wait too much longer: Kate Middleton and Prince William are reportedly releasing the 3-week-old's first official picture early on in the week of Aug. 12, 2013. The best part? A palace source tells E! News that "one of the options" the royals are considering "is to release photos taken privately" instead of the traditional, professionally shot portrait.
The Duchess of Cambridge herself "has a great eye for pictures and wants the first official ones of George to be natural and in a relaxed environment," source told the U.K.'s Mirror.
And by releasing family-taken shots, Prince George's daily routine will not be disturbed with a formal shoot, nor will Kate's parents' Bucklebury home (where mom and baby have been staying) need to accommodate a professional photographer.
The family snaps are expected to be released to the press and shared on various social-media sites, including the duke and duchess's website and Clarence House's official Twitter. A royal source told People that "the whole point of these photos is that as many people have access to them who need to and we will find the easiest way of doing that."
As for that rumored "Three Kings" pic showing three generations of royal men? Sorry, not real. A royal source tells E! News, "There is no photo of the Prince of Wales with the Duke and Prince George from the hospital, as has been reported elsewhere before."
There's still the possibility, of course, Will, Kate and George (and perhaps even the extended family) will have a professionally shot family photo in the near future. We'll also catch a glimpse of some formal pics of the young prince at his christening this fall.
Keep those calendars clear in case of any and all royal engagements!
