Sheryl Crow always said the first cut is the deepest.

So was the case earlier this week when the Grammy-winning singer took to Instagram to show off a painful injury.

Wearing a black eye patch, Crow revealed she wasn't celebrating Halloween early. Instead, she was healing from a surprise accident to her right eye.

"So this is what happens when you play tennis with your kids," Crow captioned below her Instagram photo. "Someone has a good forehand! #mommyinjury"

Her two adopted sons, Wyatt, 6, and Levi, 3, have been traveling with their musical mommy as she performs across the country. In between performances, Crow is also preparing for the release of her new album titled Feels Like Home.

So which adorable child is responsible for the one-eye look? We aren't exactly sure who hit the tennis ball a little too hard.

Knowing Crow, we have no doubt she's "Strong Enough" to handle this little setback.

Get well soon, girl!
