With fall just around the corner, many of us are stocking up on hefty September issues to read up on new trends to try out once the leaves turn.

But if you're Taylor Swift, you're not very likely to pay close attention to the styles sent down the runways.

As part of her promotion of her line with Keds, the country crooner recently sat down with Marie Claire fashion editor Zanna Roberts Rassi to discuss her fall fashion must-haves

And when asked if she followed trends closely, she replied with a straightforward—and pretty hilarious—reply.

"Not to the point where I have an impressive vocabulary about it," she explained. "You know how some people have a fashion vocabulary where they're like, ‘Oh my God, those lines in that new—I died, I died!"

Hmmm, who she could possibly be referring to?

Having said that, TayTay did admit she has a soft spot for fab fashions but nevertheless tries to keep things a bit practical when it comes to her personal wardrobe.

"I love following fashion but sometimes when the trend is everyone is dressing like a motorcycle driver or they're wearing a scuba suit and it doesn't really apply to my life, I take what applies to my life."

So, what will the blonde beauty reach for this fall?

"I like a good velvet shoe. That's something I like," she confessed. "I would love to be able to incorporate that into what I wear."

Aside from that, she'll try to keep things classically cool with the tan, camel and other neutral hues that always dominate the season.

"But for fall I really stick to like the neutral tones, like browns and just kind of like the darker colors but not full-on, not full-on like winter black."
