For Jessica Hardy, this was anything but a medal-winning move. But it had nothing to do with her swimming skills.

Rather, the Olympian almost lost her engagement ring after competing at the FINA World Championships in Barcelona on Sunday.

"I gave away my arena backpack w my engagement ring in it. To a volunteer in a blue shirt," she tweeted after becoming aware of the mistake. "Pls rt & help me find it. Please!!!!!!"

Thankfully, within about half an hour, Hardy once again had the bauble back on her finger.

"I GOT IT!!" she excitedly wrote upon its return.

Hardy soon followed that tweet up with another, saying, "This is who found my ring tonight. Thanks so much #bcn2013 volunteers, appreciate nice people in this world!!!" along with a photo of her posing with the young man who performed the good deed.

Later, Hardy's fiancé, Dominik Meichtry, posted a pic of himself and the bride-to-be after the ring had been located, writing, "Thanks to everyone who helped@swimhardy & I breathe a sigh of relief. Found the ring. Engaged twice now."
