ABC/Francisco RomanDesiree Hartsock revealed that her choice was Chris Siegfried on last night's finale of The Bachelorette, even though Brooks leaving broke her heart almost to the point of no return. But when Chris got on bended knee to propose, Desiree accepted and became a bachelorette no more.
"The turning point, to be honest, was when I had the date with Chris. I knew after Brooks leaving I had to dig deep into the relationships," Des tells us in an exclusive sit-down with her husband-to-be. "The date with Chris was just so perfect. Every date with him has always been natural and fun and I could just be myself, and I knew he had all the qualities I was looking for."
Along with debuting their relationship, Desiree was excited to be finally be able to wear her gorgeous diamond, platinum and 18-karat rose gold ring.
"It feels so good to finally have that secret out and be able to just live our lives," she exclaims with a smiling Chris next to her.
As for her fiancé, he reveals that he knew he was falling for the Bachelorette after the dodgeball date.
"I had a really good feeling when I was up on top of that hotel that this was going to happen and that this was working and that I was falling for her," he says. "And it just happened more and more every time we got to hang out together."
So when will those wedding bells chime and will those chimes be televised? The answer for both: soon and maybe.
"We've talked about it and we've discussed next summer. Not a specific date yet," Desiree tells us. "We want to keep it intimate, if we can have [that and a televised wedding], that would be great for people to share in our love. We'll see when the time comes."
