TLC's Who Do You Think You Are? dives into the ancestry of our favorite celebrities, and what they find isn't always a positive past.
Such is the case with E!'s own Chelsea Handler, who was raised Jewish but whose grandpa served in the German army in World War II.
"Whether or not he agreed with Hitler, he was serving in the German army, and then he was taken as a prisoner of war to America where he stayed for several years," the comedienne revealed in this exclusive clip of the episode. "My German grandma definitely spoke about her life during the war way more than my grandfather did. He never spoke about it."
The episode of Who Do You Think You Are?, airing Aug. 6 at 9 p.m., will follow Handler as she tries to put to rest the questions surrounding her grandpa's service in the Nazi regime. Watch a sneak peek of the episode above to hear Handler explain her family's turbulent history.
