Is Jax ready to leave his wife and mother behind?
Sons of Anarchy is revving up for its season 6 return on Tuesday, Sept. 10, by releasing another revealing promo, which teases Jax (Charlie Hunnam) choosing the club over his family, including his mother Gemma (Katey Sagal), wife Tara (Maggie Siff) and Clay (Ron Perlman).
In the tease, which is aptly titled "Mayhem," Jax is seen riding with his club and passes a building with murals of Gemma, Tara and Clay's faces, which blows up after they drive by. Yikes! (But at least Jax and the gang look pretty badass, right?!)
During the show's panel at the 2013 Summer TCA Press Tour, creator Kurt Sutter teased that Jax will be torn between his loyalty to the club and his love for his family in season 6.
"Can I really do what I do and follow this path and still show up and be a caring and loving husband, a good and loving father?" he said of Jax's mindset. "Can I have all that and still be, you know, the leader of, ultimately, a criminal enterprise?"
"Having framed Clay for the murder of Damon Pope, Season Six begins with Jax's leadership uncontested, but his family life suffering from his single-minded pursuit of John Teller's vision," FX says of the new season. "Jax must find a way to keep Tara from going to prison for conspiracy to commit murder while rebuilding his club and breaking from the cycle of violence and greed that ultimately led to his best friend's death."
The new season of Sons of Anarchy premieres Sept. 10 at 10 p.m.
