Watch: Tara Reid Soaks in "Sharknado" Success

Has the Sharknado phenomenon jumped the shark? Not even close.

Tara Reid and Ian Zierning accepted the Sharknado's Internet Sensation Award at Thursday's 2013 Young Hollywood Awards, where the actress told E! News exclusively she "never would've believed" Syfy flick would reach such levels of popularity. On Friday, roughly 200 theaters nationwide are screening the movie, and according to Fandango, tickets are selling out--and fast!

"It's just crazy," Reid said. "It's hilarious. It just shows you how powerful social media is!"

"Today I was doing all the interviews with the UK, and it went huge in Australia, 11 more countries bought it in Asia," she said. "It's going viral. This movie has become such a crazy phenomenon.

Fandango spokesman Harry Medved explained that while "it's unprecedented for a TV movie to be released in theaters and do this well in limited engagements," cult movies like Sharknado "are more fun to watch with a packed audience yelling their favorite lines back at the big screen. You need full audience participation to truly appreciate a film like Sharknado."

Isn't that the bloody truth!
