Well, it could be will.i.am, according to a source.
"He's in talks," the source said. "It looks like he's going to do it."
Earlier this month, sources told E! News that producers included him on a list of possible new judges. Other notable names included Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Fergie, Adam Lambert and Jennifer Hudson.
The Dreamgirls Oscar winner was to become a judge until a shakeup at the Fox show included new producers rethinking the judging table for season 13.
The Black Eyed Peas singer has been a regular mentor on Idol. He performed "Bang Bang" off his new album #willpower and The Great Gatsby soundtrack on the last season of Idol in May.
He's also been a coach for the last two seasons of the U.K. version of The Voice.
A rep for Fox declined to comment. Reps for will.i.am also didn't comment.
