Cue the congratulations!

Upon learning that Simon Cowell is going to be a father, his Britain's Got Talent co-judge David Walliams sent him a very special message.

"For the record @SimonCowell and I tried to have a baby together for many years," he joked. "But I just couldn't get pregnant."

But all kidding aside, we're sure that Cowell was overjoyed to receive the well wishes from his longtime pal. None of the show's other judges, both past and present, have commented on the baby news yet.

A source confirmed to E! News today that the X Factor judge is expecting a baby with New York City socialite Lauren Silverman

And the bigger surprise? The mom-to-be is still technically married to real-estate mogul Andrew Silverman, who happens to be a friend of Simon's.

This will be the first child for the Brit. And while he might not be the first guy you would think of as having paternal instincts, he told the U.K.'s Sunday People in April 2013, "I'd want kids if I knew I could be faithful."

"I do like kids," he clarified. "I'm not sure I would be good for the first six months or so, but once they knew who I am…"

"I still haven't ruled it out," Cowell added. "Would I adopt? No, I think I would rather have my own, but I wouldn't rule it out."

The father-to-be also said he "would prefer a girl." Only time will tell if he will get his wish!

No official word yet from Cowell or the mother of his future child. But just a few days before the news broke, Cowell was snapped with a mystery woman sitting on his lap as the two left London restaurant River Café. The duo seemed extremely cozy while driving off together.

Meanwhile, there's another famous Brit who is weighing in on the Cowell news.

Sharon Osbourne gushed on today's episode of The Talk about her pal and said that she has full confidence in his future parenting skills.

"They have been friends for a while," she said of his relationship with Lauren. "These things happen. I do think he'll be a good father."

Cowell's gal pal Sinitta Malone, who was first signed by the music exec, posted a cryptic tweet earlier this week, saying, "Something has just happened...half miracle, half nightmare! #WakeMeUpIWantToGetOff!"

We'll leave it up to you to decipher what she's talking about...
