Teri Hatcher Is Down for a Desperate Housewives Movie: "I Think It Would Be Great"

Desperate Housewives ABC

Apparently a continuation of your favorite TV characters on the big screen is so hot right now. Julianna Margulies pitched us an ER wedding reunion movie that involves George Clooney. Sarah Michelle Gellar revealed she and Buffy creator Joss Whedon talk about doing a film all the time. And now Teri Hatcher is causing a ruckus with her talk of a Desperate Housewives movie.

In an interview with Extra, Hatcher revealed that she's game to bring back her character Susan Mayer and the women of Wisteria lane…if the script is right.

"I love the fans of the show so much, and they don't seem to be done with those characters," she said. "I think it would be great for them. If a script ever came across my lap, I would read it hoping that it would work out, but I don't really see that happening."

Basically, never say never, DH fans. Take that fan fiction you've been working on and turn it into a feature film. And then somehow get it on Hatcher's lap. Easy as pie, right?

The hit ABC series signed off after eight seasons in May of 2012. Hatcher's character was last seen driving out of Wisteria Lane (she was the first to move out of the neighborhood), and saying goodbye to all the ghosts of Desperate Housewives past, including her beloved Mike (James Denton) and the woman that started it all: Mary Alice (Brenda Strong).

Creator Marc Cherry ruled out a Desperate Housewives movie during the Winter Press Tour in January of last year, revealing that he even spoke to Sex and the City guru Michael Patrick King about taking TV shows to the big screen.

"Sex and the City only did like 69 episodes. The advantage for them was they hadn't really plumbed the depths of those characters," Cherry explained. "After eight years, I think we're done. I'm happy about it. It's not a bad thing. I feel very satisfied with where we are. I'm never sending these girls to Dubai. That's all I'm saying."

Do you want to see a Desperate Housewives movie? Or was their televised goodbye enough for you?
