Spinoffs, so hot right now!

The CW is set to launch the highly anticipated Vampire Diaries spinoff The Originals this October, and it was revealed at Comic-Con that the network is looking to expand the world of its fan-favorite drama Supernatural with a spinoff. But wait, the CW isn't done with spinoffs yet! During the network's presentation at the 2013 Summer TCAs Press Tour, CW president Mark Pedowitz revealed that Arrow is looking to introduce a beloved DC Comics character in its second season who could potentially land his own series!

Plus, Pedowitz dished on when Nikita's final season will kick off, Samantha Jones' (Lindsey Gort) introduction on The Carrie Diaries and more...

Supernatural Spinoff Heads to the Windy City: Fans were buzzing when it was announced that a spinoff of the long-running drama was in the works, and Pedowitz revealed some details on the new project, saying, "It will be set in Chicago and it will be hunters and it will be monsters." Pedowitz did deny that it will center on a character fans already know, saying, "I don't believe anyone is intending to have characters currently on Supernatural." Sorry, Felicia Day fans!

And fans of Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) shouldn't start worrying over the future of Supernatural, which is heading into its ninth season, as Pedowitz assures, "I would love Supernatural to continue for as long as they can continue it."

The Long Goodbye: While the network has yet to announce the premiere date for Nikita's fourth and final season, Pedowitz says, "We are aiming for mid-November…to get it the appropriate sendoff." He did deny one rumor about the six episodes' rollout. "The game plan for Nikita is not, and I quote, three two-hour movies. It is individual episodes," he says. "We may end up doing a two-hour finale."

Arrow Spinoff in the Works: Season two of the CW's breakout superhero hit will introduce viewers to a recurring character DC Comics fans are sure to get excited over. "We plan to introduce a recurring character and origin story Dr. Barry Allen, who you all know as The Flash," Pedowitz reveals. "We're planning an origin story and we'll see how it goes."

If all goes well with Allen's introduction into th Arrow world, there is strong potential for a spinoff series, as Pedowitz says, "We do want to expand upon the DC universe. We think there are rich characters we can use and this is an organic way we can get there."

Hello, Samantha Jones: Sex and the City loyalists are salivating over the debut of Samantha Jones, who will be played by newcomer Gort, in The Carrie Diaries' second season, but Pedowitz says fans shouldn't get their hopes up for the introduction of Miranda and Charlotte just yet. "I think this is the year that Carrie and Samantha first bond and we'll see what happens after that. I think this is the year about Samantha."
