We have to wonder if Cameron Diaz and Naomi Watts got together before the Baby Buggy event in East Hampton, NY this past weekend and decided to protest glamour in solidarity.  Normally we would think the only excuse for showing up to a celeb-filled event with "I just got out of Pilates" hair would be record-high temperatures, but East Hampton got to a whopping 75 degrees Saturday!

To make matters worse, both blond starlets' faces were devoid of color. Listen, they are both good-looking women. We're not saying they need makeup, but if they're going to show up to a red carpet makeup with gym hair they need to at least make an effort with their faces.

Beauty Bailout:  Since both Cameron and Naomi have fine hair, they need to make the decision as to whether they want to wear their hair up or down because this just looks plain messy.

We think the starlets would have both looked polished and sexy with their blond locks pulled all the way back to show off those glorious cheekbones. To do this at home, if you have fine hair you need to use a styling hair product that will provide control and hold but won't make you look like you dipped your head in Crisco.

Apply a dime size amount of a weightless gel like Pantene Pro-V Fine Hair Weightless Body Building Extra Strong Hold Gel from roots to ends.  If you want a super-slick look, use a comb to rake back hair towards the nape of your neck. For more texture, use your fingers to comb back hair.

Next, if you have a short ‘do, gather hair in low ponytail and fasten with an elastic. If your tresses are longer than shoulder length, fasten hair with an elastic at the nape of the neck. Then, to give this look some oomph, braid the ponytail and wrap it around the elastic and pin with hairpins.

As for the makeup, we're not asking the ladies to go full-on face here… But, perhaps if Cameron were to brighten this look with a long-wearing creamy, flirty fuchsia like Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Anarchy it would bring out the blue in her eyes and make her look instantly "going out" ready.

For Naomi, this woman is in desperate need of some mattifying product. Her face is shinier than a new penny.  She should switch out her usual moisturizer for a formula that instantly attacks shine but still provides the necessary moisture and nutrients like Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Matifying Fluid.

Next, even if she isn't going to wear a speck of makeup, she should use a mattifying primer like Benefit The POREfessional to kill shine and fill in fine lines and pores.  Before leaving the house, she should dust the problem shine areas with a finishing powder like Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder which will not only mattify skin by removing excess surface oil but the Amazonian Clay will help to balance the skin.

After addressing the shine issue with Naomi, we would have added a demure pink pucker like MAKE UP FOR EVER Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick in 33 – Satin Fresh Pink. This would have added a subtle pop of color and brought out the pink in her cheeks.

At least Naomi wore big gold hoops to add a little bling to this look, which was enough for us to give her this victory over Cameron. What do you think?
