The dreams of many an aspiring designer may have been dashed by the cancellation of reality competition Fashion Star, but the show's termination definitely isn't slowing down former judge Nicole Richie!

Hot on the heels of giving us an exclusive sneak peek at the campaign for the fall 2013 collection for her successful jewelry line, House of Harlow 1960, the designer has launched a new clothing collection under the same label.

And Richie has definitely surprised us with her latest offerings, deviating from the boho chic style that tends to be her calling card as a designer and on the red carpet.

Instead, the fashion guru has created an all-black, downtown-ready five-piece collection full of sleek faux leather pieces. Take the edgy leather shorts, which feature such notice-me details as slant pockets and a cool off-center button closure, or a moto jacket that any rocker girl would surely appreciate.

But for those with a slightly more girly style, Richie also offers delicately perforated faux leather pieces too, like a charming A-line skirt and an oh-so-sexy top that's perfect for showing off a pretty bandeau bra or meant-to-be-seen bustier.

Her lighter laser-cut pieces are right in keeping with the spring leather trend that dominated runways not too long ago, proving that sexy skins don't have to be reserved for cold weather months.

That's good news for fashionistas who can't wait to strut the city streets in Richie's luxe line!
