Think Katy Perry looked incredible on the July cover of Vogue?

Well, apparently, it took the stylish songbird a lot of work to become cover-worthy.

Perry, who stopped by the Tonight Show With Jay Leno on Friday, told the talk show host all about her extreme diet regimen prior to posing for her first cover for the iconic fashion magazine—and we're exhausted (and starved) just hearing about it!

"I did a lot of my own prepping," she shared. "I kind of went on a cleanse…I did a lot of stuff like vitamins and supplements, I changed my coffee to green tea, I didn't drink any alcohol for three months. So I was really in the zone; I just wanted to be glowing for that cover."

So much for relying on Photoshop!

And for those of you who might be a bit skeptical of Perry's super-clean diet, she offered photographic proof not too long ago.

Back in May, Perry took to Twitter to show off a serious supply of supplements packed into three bags labeled "upon rising, "breakfast" and "dinner."

"I'm all about that supplement & vitamin LYFE!" she wrote along with a picture of three giant bags of vitamins that obscured her face.

Looks like her hard work paid off, because Perry absolutely stunned on the pages of Vogue, showing off her itty-bitty waist in Valentino couture in a high-fashion spread, and looking ravishing in a romantic floral Rodarte design on the cover of the magazine.
