And on top of all those problems (that of course we know by heart), Lisa Kudrow just reaffirmed our fears: There never was, nor will there ever be, a Friends reunion in the works. We're just going to let that sadness sink in a little bit.
The former Friends star very firmly told CNN that she's tired of being asked if she and the old Central Perk gang are ever going to get back together.
"I knew there wasn't ever a movie. There was never a Friends movie. Ever. So I've always known it's not happening," she says.
A few months ago, the Internet exploded with happiness when a false rumor began to swirl claiming that NBC had agreed to move forward with a new season of Friends. It wasn't until the co-creator of Friends Marta Kauffman told us exclusively that any type of reunion was absolutely "not happening."
"Friends was about that time in your life when your friends are your family and once you have a family, there's no need anymore," she told us.
We're not the only ones who believed it could be true, because even Kurdrow was fooled by the false report!
The Web Therapy actress explains: "With this last rumor someone came up with a great graphic with the couch and it looked like a real teaser. And then someone came up with a fake story and got some publication to buy the lie that there was going to be a reunion. And I went, 'Wait a minute, was I not invited? Oh my God, maybe there is one and I wasn't asked to do it.' I even had a moment where I believed it because everything around it looked real. It was a good setup."
Unfortunately the 49-year-old actress is certain that the rumors need to finally put to rest and it's time to stop dwelling on the memories in our favorite purple apartment. "The creators have put them to rest. NBC has. I don't know who else needs to say, 'It's really not happening.'"
We guess we need to finally face the fact that Phoebe will never sing "Smelly Cat" for us ever again. Sigh.
