Time to introduce the royal baby to his new digs!

Prince William and Kate Middleton debuted their first child on the steps of St. Mary's Hospital today before heading home to Kensington Palace, where the family of three is expected to reside at Nottingham Cottage until their newly renovated apartment is complete.

Of course, the nursery is already decked out for the future king (Middleton shopped at high-end stores to design the posh suite), but it's unlikely the little one will be living there for long, as Will will soon head back to work in Wales.

Following Will's paternity leave, the first-time father will return to work as a search-and-rescue pilot at RAF Valley in Anglesey, and Middleton will reportedly head to her parents' home in the Berkshire village of Bucklebury.

The mother of one is expected to enjoy quality time with her folks, Carole and Michael Middleton, at their multimillion-dollar manor as she adjusts to life as a new mom.

And locals in Kate's small hometown have already been hit with a wave of royal baby fever, as they celebrate the birth of the third in line to the throne.

After Will completes his current tour of duty, the brunette beauty is reportedly planning to relocate to London with her husband and their newborn son.

The adorable family is expected to move into their newly renovatedKensington Palace apartment as early as August. The 20-room space, also known as Apartment 1A, features a charming private garden, perfect for play time with their little one. After the royal heir grows up, he may also spend time at Buckingham Palace, where the easel announcing the Prince of Cambridge's birth was displayed in front of the gates.

So how's the little prince doing on his second day in the world?

"He's got a good pair of lungs on him that's for sure. He's a good boy, he's quite heavy," Will said of the couple's first child, who weighed 8 pounds, 6 ounces, at birth. "It's the first time we've seen him, really we haven't had a proper chance to catch up."

The new dad also described the future King of England's birth as "very special" and "very emotional," while Middleton gushed over the precious moment, saying it was "a very special time."

Aw.
