The royal baby made his debut today, so say hello to the Prince of Cambridge, world!

Prince William and Kate Middleton emerged from St. Mary's Hospital's Lindo Wing with the 1-day-old royal baby at 7:14 p.m. local time Tuesday. The first-time father excitedly told the press that the 1-day-old tot got "[Kate's] looks, thankfully!"

The Duchess of Cambridge modestly disagreed, saying, "No, no, no, no, no," with a loving smile.

Wills also quipped that the seemingly bald infant has "got way more hair than me, thank God!"

He described the future King of England's birth as "very special" and "very emotional."

"He's got a good pair of lungs on him that's for sure. He's a good boy, he's quite heavy," said dad of the tot, who weighed 8 lbs., 6 oz.. at birth. "It's the first time we've seen him, really we haven't had a proper chance to catch up."

The parents also noted that Will, hands-on dad he is, has already changed their son's diaper, or "nappy," as the Brits say!

But don't start monogramming things yet. William explained that he and Kate "are still working on a name, so we will have that as soon as we can."

Fair enough. These two did just welcome their new addition Monday, and instead of rushing to name him, they've been enjoying their time with him. Kate described her first two days as a mum as "such a special time.

"I I think any parent probably sort of knows what this feeling feels like," she said.

"I'll remind him of his tardiness when he's a bit older," added Will. "I know how long you've all been standing here so hopefully the hospital and you guys can all go back to normal now and we can go and look after him."

The royal couple said their goodbyes to the cameras and then strapped the young heir safely into his carseat. Then, Wills himself got behind the wheel of a black Range Rover and headed home to Kensington Palace with his wife and son.

Happily ever after is well underway!
