In the annals of celeb babydom, July 22, 2013, seems to have been a particularly special date: Penélope Cruz welcomed her second child with Javier Bardem on the same day that Kate Middleton and Prince William celebrated the arrival of the royal baby.
Indeed, the Vicky Cristina Barcelona actress gave birth to a baby girl in Madrid, and her hubby was reportedly by her side.
It was an opportune time to skirt the probing eyes of the paparazzi, as Cruz's bundle of joy happened to arrive just as the global media was glued to the latest developments in the birth of Will and Kate's son, the third in line to the throne.
Consider the joint birthdays a happy convergence of British royalty and Hollywood royalty. But it won't be the first time that the two families have crossed paths.
In fact...both families were once neighbors!
Last year, Cruz and Bardem rented a flat that was just a stone's throw away from Will and Kate's snazzy Kensington Palace digs.
As E! News reported, while Bardem was in town shooting Skyfall, the Hollywood twosome had moved into a luxury apartment building right next to the palace.
There, Cruz reportedly hunkered down to look after the couple's tot, Leo, while pop went gallivanting with Daniel Craig in what would become the James Bond franchise's highest-grossing film.
In fact, it's likely they may have come close to literally crossing paths: Both properties share an adjoining parkland, which means it's possible (wishful thinking?) that Cruz might have barely missed seeing Kate, who often walked her dog, Lupo, in the park.
Now, if these two lovely families can set up a joint birthday party...
