HRH Prince of Cambridge has finally arrived, and you better believe that Prince Charles is excited to be a grandpa!

On July 22, 2013, the royal issued a statement on Kate Middleton and Prince William's joyous baby news, shortly after Kensington Palace announced the infant's arrival.

"Both my wife [Camilla Duchess of Cornwall] and I are overjoyed at the arrival of my first grandchild," said Charles, 65.  "It is an incredibly special moment for William and Catherine and we are so thrilled for them on the birth of their baby boy."

"Grandparenthood is a unique moment in anyone's life, as countless kind people have told me in recent months," he said, "so I am enormously proud and happy to be a grandfather for the first time and we are eagerly looking forward to seeing the baby in the near future."

He's not the only one excited about the newborn prince. Everyone in the United Kingdom—including Prime Minister David Cameron—is celebrating, too! Cameron issued a statement on Twitter, saying he was "delighted for the Duke and Duchess now their son has been born."

"The whole country will celebrate," he added. "They'll make wonderful parents."

That they will!
