Kate Middleton and Prince William want the royal baby's arrival to be a special moment shared between them—not the whole family!

On Monday, Buckingham Palace denied rumors that Carole Middleton and Pippa Middleton were going to be present in the mom-to-be's private Lindo wing suite at St. Mary's Hospital.

"She very much wants just her husband to be there," NBC News royal expert Camilla Tominey said Monday, reiterating that there "are no plans for Duchess Kate's mother and sister to join her in the delivery room."

Kate's parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, reportedly left their home Bucklebury for London early Monday morning, just hours after their daughter and her husband entered the hospital via a back entrance.

A Kensington Palace spokesperson told NBC, "Things are progressing as normal" with Kate's labor. We won't have official confirmation, however, until a royal press officer emerges from the Lindo Wing carrying a document. The paper, signed by Kate's medical team, will list the infant's gender and possibly weight or hair color. It will be driven by police escort to Buckingham Palace, where it will then be  placed on a scroll outside the Privy Purse.

And then, after much anticipation, we'll know if we're celebrating the newborn Prince or Princess of Cambridge!
