The Carrie Diaries has found its Samantha.

Lindsey Gort has landed the plum role of the outspoken Samantha Jones opposite AnnaSophia Robb's Carrie Bradshaw for the CW charmer's upcoming second season, Warner Bros. TV announced on Saturday. Of course, the role was made famous by Kim Cattrall in HBO's hit series Sex and the City; and Carrie Diaries fans have eagerly awaited the introduction of one of Carrie's three best girlfriends.

Even better? Gort is coming on as a series regular, which means fans can expect to see tons of Samantha in the new season. How fabulous! So how will the younger versions of Carrie and Samantha cross paths?

In a statement, The Carrie Diaries' producers said, "Through a surprising connection, our young Carrie Bradshaw will meet one of the most important people in her life this season in a role made iconic by Kim Cattrall: Samantha Jones, a ballsy, beautiful and sexy young woman from the panhandle of Florida who has made her way—and already a name for herself—in the rock 'n' roll scene of 1980s NYC."

Newcomer Gort can next be seen in 2 Guns opposite Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg this August.

In the season one finale, it was hinted that fans may be meeting another familiar face as Bennet (Jake Robinson) revealed that Stanford Blatch, played by Willie Garson on the series, is his roommate.

The Carrie Diaries returns Friday, Oct. 25 on the CW.
