Don't go believing reports that George Clooney recently tried dating Eva Longoria.

Yesterday, Us Weekly reported that the 52-year-old actor tried pursuing the 38-year-old beauty while he was still with his now ex-girlfriend Stacy Keibler. "George began pursuing Eva," a source told the mag. "He told her that he was still with Stacy, but had plans to break up with her and was interested in being with Eva."

However, Longoria took to Twitter earlier today to shoot down the Clooney romance rumors herself. "As interesting as the George Clooney rumors are, they aren't true. George and I have been friends for years," she shared.

We bet Longoria's new boyfriend Ernesto Argüello is glad to hear that. The former Desperate Housewives star dating the hunky Ready for Love bachelor in April and confirmed their new romance earlier this month. "I think that's why our relationship is so special—we truly started as friends," she told People, adding, "I guess we have the press to thank for pushing us to see something we didn't see!"

A source also recently told E! News of Longoria and Argüello 34, "She just got back from meeting his family. The two are very serious as he is crazy about her." The couple met last year on the reality dating show, which he starred on and Longoria produced.

Longoria and Argüello have been spotted out and about a lot recently. Last week, the cute couple got their PDA on with a handholding walk around Paris together. And not long before their Parisian getaway, Longoria and Argüello were all smiles while playing in the water together in Malibu. The actress and her super-sexy Latin hunk were snapped splashing around during some paddling boarding in the ocean.

As for Clooney, he and Keibler broke up earlier this month after two years together. It sounds like the twosome is still on good terms though. Keibler told E! News earlier this week, "I'm great [post-split], yeah," the upbeat TV star said. "George and I have always been friends and we always will be friends."
