Does Ryan Reynolds believe in the supernatural?
The actor's latest film R.I.P.D. (which hits theaters this Friday) follows the story of a murdered cop who attempts to find his murderer after joining a team of undead police officers working for the Rest in Peace Department, but the star admits he doesn't actually believe in the afterlife—well, not completely.
"I don't know, it's tough. I mean, I think people can leave a lot of energy behind when they're disturbed in some way and I think that can kind of surface in some particular way," Reynolds tells E! News during the film's press junket.
"I don't think that when I finally close my eyes to this crazy show, that I'm gonna step into something else as Ryan Reynolds in another form, I just think it just all circles back."
Speaking of circles, the high-action film had Reynolds and his costar Jeff Bridges getting tossed around for some scenes, including one when they had to spin around in a car so much that Ryan almost found himself hurling on set.
"It was spinning the car every way you could imagine," he told us. "I almost barfed right away. I was not liking it."
Doing a buddy cop film required the duo to bond before filming, and although Bridges rubbing Reynold's back as he threw up could have taken their relationship to another level, they decided to go a different route.
"We just hung. We had a couple weeks of rehearsing and experimenting on different things," Bridges said, adding that they went to dinner and swapped life stories.
And then Ryan revealed the real story.
"We killed a drifter," Reynolds joked. "Jeff was really into it. Some sport killing."
