Ralph Macchio's daughter Julia is following in his famous footsteps.

The 51-year-old Karate Kid star stepped out in NYC last night to support the 21-year-old budding actress at the premiere of her new flick, Girl Most Likely.

Macchio (who never seems to age), posed for photos with Julia on the red carpet during the Cinema Society and Brooks Brothers-hosted party at Landmark's Sunshine Cinema. Julia also posed for pics solo.

For the bash, Julia, who plays a small part in Girl Most Likely as a clubgoer, sported a bright red halter dress, matching red lipstick and a black bag. She tweeted a photo of herself getting ready with the caption, "I wore red to match the carpet." Macchio, meanwhile, donned dark jeans, a white button-down shirts and sport coat.

Macchio tweeted a supportive message to his daughter last night, posting, "#GirlMostLikely premiere. Big night for @JayMacch - Great job, my girl. Congrats!!" Julia tweeted, "#GirlMostLikely premiere tonight!!!! Another big night in NYC with the family!" followed by, "Most incredible and rewarding night. May it be the first of many like this to come!"

Also at the premiere were the film's stars Kristen Wiig, Darren Criss and Matt Dillon along with producer Trudi Styler. Criss wore a small black ribbon on his jacket as a tribute to his fallen Glee costar Cory Monteith, who was found dead in Vancouver just a few days ago.

As for Julia's acting aspirations, Macchio told People magazine, "She has a little part in the movie she got all by herself—not through me!" Julia added, "I didn't want any help from him. It was so much fun and a great first experience. Kristen [Wiig] is so nice, and everyone was so nice. I had one scene, but it was a great experience."

Macchio, who is most famous for his breakout role in 1984's The Karate Kid, hasn't inspired Julia to take up the martial arts for a film role. She said, "Oh my gosh, no. Hopefully other things, though. But not karate."

But hey, maybe we'll see Julia on an upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars?
