Pedro Andrade, PacificCoastNewsIf she hadn't before, Fergie is really looking to put her Kids Incorporated days behind her now.
The pregnant pop star has filed a petition in Los Angeles Superior Court to legally change her name from Stacy Ann Ferguson to Fergie Duhamel, the surname of course belonging to her husband of four years, Josh Duhamel.
And Fergie is, after all, "the first name which she is commonly and professionally known as, and has been for many years," the petition states. A hearing on her request is scheduled for Aug. 16.
Mrs. Duhamel was spotted over the weekend grabbing a fresh-squeezed juice with her mom at L.A.'s Beverly Center.
The Black Eyed Pea has been a reliably stylish presence on the celebrity-expectant-mom circuit, but Fergie really showed just how good having a pea in the pod can look when she wore a clingy tie-dye-print wrap dress to Heidi Klum's 40th birthday party last month.
Her hubby, meanwhile, has grown a pre-baby beard, perhaps already anticipating the sleepless nights that could make him less inclined to shave.
"We are over the moon about it," Duhamel said on Chelsea Lately in April about their impending arrival. "We've been trying for this for quite a while."
And though Fergie wasn't planning on letting him watch the birth, er, head-on, the Safe Haven star said that he considers childbirth "a beautiful thing."
