Just days before Cory Monteith's untimely passing, he was busy working on future charity projects in Vancouver with his agent and the head of Project Limelight Society—an a nonprofit group performing arts program for children in the city's Eastside Downtown area.
Monteith initiated the dinner and was joined by his agent Elena Kirschner and Limelight founder Maureen Webb at East of Main Café on Thursday evening to discuss upcoming plans.
It appears that Monteith was incredibly passionate about helping others in any way that he could and was set on making a difference.
Desiree Mohammadi, the founder and creator of Montourage Unite, had been working with the Glee star and his agent on several fundraising projects alongside Monteith's favorite charities.
In May, the fan-based community site teamed up with Virgin Unite for a project ending in May of this year. Together the combined efforts raised $5,231.
Just this past June, Mohammadi launched the second fundraiser, which runs through November. The project will raise money for To Write Love on Her Arms, an organization that works to create hope for those suffering from depression, suicidal thoughts, anxiety and addiction.
And at last week's dinner meeting, the trio was apparently in the beginning stages of the third fundraising mission, a combined effort by TWLOHA and Project Limelight. The plans were set to launch the project in December through May 2014, in honor of Cory's 32nd birthday.
"It breaks my heart to know that Cory will never know the outcome of this second fundraiser," she told E! News. "The world lost a truly remarkable man. He touched the lives of millions, of all ages."
"He had the power to instantly make someone smile, Mohammadi recalled. "I always remember this special quality he had when he was around others. He always made such deep eye contact with you, he wanted to make sure that we knew he was listening."
Webb released the following statement shortly after the devastating news on half of Project Limelight, saying, "We are deeply saddened by the unexpected death of our good friend."
"Cory was an amazing young man with a generous heart…Our heart goes out to this family, fans and close friends. Cory was a friend and will be dearly missed."
Donations can be made to Project Limelight in honor of Monteith on the charity's website.
