Richard Deitsch asked an innocent question and ended up with more awesome answers than he could have ever expected.
"How many of you have a photograph of the single best moment of your life? If so, what a gift. (HT: @sports_casters for thought)," the Sports Illustrated writer-reporter tweeted earlier this week after being touched by a pic posted to the Twitter account of Steven Bennett, who hosts a podcast out of Buffalo, N.Y.
Bennett had shared a photo of himself celebrating his younger brother's NCAA hockey championship at Yale.
And neither were prepared for what happened next.
Since Deitsch's first inquiry, a flood of people have taken to Twitter to share photos capturing what they considered to be one of the greatest moments of their lives, whether they knew it at the time or had figured it out in hindsight.
"I'm off to bed. Apologies for clogging timelines but hundreds of people kept asking for more photos of the most memorable moment of a life," Deitsch tweeted on July 8, not knowing how many more would continue to come in throughout the week.
"Thanks for reminding me of every day humanity," he added. "Easy the best thing I've ever done on Twitter."
