Suri Cruise let those pesky paparazzi know when they were in her way.
Joined by mom Katie Holmes and another child on a hot New York City day, the 7-year-old mini-fashionista demanded that the omnipresent shutterbugs get out of their way. It was a professional autograph hunter—not a pap—that called Suri "a brat" (not cool!), but it was clearly the photographers who irked the little girl in the first place.
"We're adults, and we're fair game—not that I like being photographed going in and out of school in my sweatpants," she said, referring to herself and The Heat costar and real-life BFF Melissa McCarthy. "But I instinctively throw things over Louis's head….He doesn't like [the paparazzi]. He gives them the stink-eye, and they're like, 'That's such an angry kid,' but I look at them and say, 'Only when you guys are around.'"
Halle Berry testified last month in support of California's anti-paparazzi bill, which would limit the ability of photographers to take pictures of celebs' children. "My daughter [Nahla] doesn't want to go to school because she knows ‘the men' are watching for her," she said. "They jump out of the bushes and from behind cars and who knows where else, besieging these children just to get a photo."
The Academy Award winner, who is pregnant with her second child, a baby boy, said if the bill were to pass, "the quality of my life and my children's lives will be dramatically changed."
But until this bill passes and the laws surrounding photographing children are stricter, celeb children—from Honey Boo Boo to Violet Affleck—are going to have to keep dealing with the paps in the best way they can: By showing those shutterbugs some sass!
