Chris Jackson/Getty Images for Ascot Racecourse, Rex USAPrince William and Kate Middleton are getting very close to entering their new life as parents, but the couple's family isn't worried about the duo one bit.
"First and foremost, everyone is ecstatic for both," said William's cousin Peter Phillips, speaking to royal correspondent Max Foster in an interview with CNN, according to Hello! magazine.
"They will make great parents and it's great to be able to welcome another child into the family, if not from a selfish perspective for my two girls to be able to grow up with a playmate."
It's not the royal couple's kind hearts and sweet personalities that Phillips credits to his faith in them as parents (although those are both also a big plus).
Instead, Will's cousin says the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be able to protect their child from the spotlight it will constantly be under, especially since William is very familiar with that lifestyle.
"He or she will be under a great deal of scrutiny," Phillips said of the royal baby. "That being said, both of the baby's parents are used to that and I think there is the structure and infrastructure around them all to be able to protect them to a certain extent.
"Sure, the baby's going to be in the limelight, just like William was from a very early age."
When Kate does go into labor, she will check into the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's in London. The hospital has recommended that she bring her "maternity notes and birth plan" as well as a dressing gown, nursing bras and outfits for both mom and baby to wear home.
A helicopter is on standby in the event that William needs to get back to Kate in time for their child's arrival.
