We aren't one to speculate (except we totally do that all the time), but could someone who looks like Lisa Edelstein waltz in and steal Castle (Nathan Fillion) away from Beckett (Stana Katic)? Answer: maybe, if the Castle writers want to piss off some shippers.
The House vet will be joining season six of the hit drama in a multi-episode arc, E! News has confirmed with ABC.
According to TVLine, who first reported the news of Edelstein's casting, she'll be playing taking on the role of Rachel McCord. Her character will play a significant part in Beckett's career future, and since Castle's true love was thinking about moving to Washington D.C.to join a special task force in the U.S. Attorney General's office in the season-five finale, we're thinking Rachel will be tied into that storyline. Common logic: sometimes we have it.
Thus far, it sounds like Edelstein won't be a love interest for Castle, but you never know. Castle and Beckett can't just end up engaged and live happily ever after in season six, can they? That's more of a season-seven storyline.
