George Clooney was looking very much the single guy as he casually walked around Italy on Wednesday.
Of course, the sight of the star strolling solo isn't exactly a complete surprise seeing how he and Stacy Keibler have reportedly called it quits after two years of dating.
And given the breakup, we don't blame the Oscar winner if he simply needs a little time to get away from it all and just chill at his Lake Como villa.
On Monday, a source close to the former couple told E! News that the split "happened a little while ago," adding that it was Keibler who "decided to end things."
And contrary to speculation that the 33-year-old beauty pulled the plug out of a desire to tie the knot and start a family, the source insisted that settling down with Clooney was not a factor.
"Stacy has always said she doesn't know if she'll get married one day or have kids," the source said.
In fact, the source noted that Keibler wants to simply try being single for a while: "She's not looking for a boyfriend again right now."
Rumors began swirling that the two had broken up after Keibler was seen on the Fourth of July at the DeLeon Tequila party in Malibu, sans Clooney, who, on that same day, was on Lake Como.
The two were last seen together back in March enjoying a night out in Berlin, where Clooney has been filming his latest directorial effort, The Monuments Men, which he's also starring in. They had dinner with Clooney's costar Matt Damon and coproducer Grant Heslov.
Of course, now we can't help but wonder who Clooney will be taking to the upcoming BAFTA LA Brittania Awards on Nov. 9 now that the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles has just announced it is honoring the actor with its Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film at the annual event.
Guess time will tell.
