Will you make the trek across The Bridge on a weekly basis?

That is the question after FX's serial killer drama premiered tonight, introducing viewers to two detectives forced to work together when a murdered body is found on the border of the United States and Mexico.

Diane Kruger makes her TV debut as Sonya Cross, an El Paso police detective with Asperger's syndrome, in the series, which also stars Oscar nominee Demián Bichir as her reluctant partner Marco Ruiz, a Chihuahua State police detective. Now that you've seen The Bridge, we're curious to know what you thought of the new series...

When the corpse of a woman, an anti-immgration judge, is discovered in the middle of the Bridge of the Americas, the U.S. and Mexico each claim jurisdiction over the case as the bridge links El Paso, Tex. with Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, in this adaptation of the Scandanavian drama Broen.

Sonya and Marco's tense dynamic during their hunt for the serial killer directly relates to what's going on at the border, Bichir explains. "It's just the way between Mexico and the United States, we represent that," he says. "It's a direct analogy of how we're so close together and so different and we need to work together to solve the problems that we have in common."

And while it wasn't said in the first episode, Sonya, who wants to work the case alone, has Asperger's syndrome, a "challenge" Kruger welcomed when deciding to take the role. "It continues to be, not a struggle, but a real challenge because it's not an affectation," she tells us. "It's not just something you can put on for the day, so FX was kind enough to introduce me to Autism Speaks and we have a young man called Alex Plank who came aboard as my advisor. He's on set everyday and he has Asperger's, so I've picked his brain and asked very many uncomfortable questions."
