With the opening of Lovelace a little more than a month away (Aug. 9), a new trailer gives us good, long look at the biopic—and especially at Amanda Seyfried in the title role.

Ever since the film hit this year's Sundance Film Festival, much has been made about its '70s-tastic look. The story of Linda Lovelace, the troubled actress who starred in the infamous 1972 porno Deep Throat, the film bristles with delightfully period-specific synthetic-material outfits: The trailer offers glimpses of everything from Seyfried's monokini and floppy hat to Chris Noth's wide, wide collar.

But the trailer also lays out the dark themes underlying the tale's sleazy style.

We see scenes of Lovelace (real name Linda Susan Boreman) both before and after Deep Throat became a scandalous sensation. Her tumultuous relationship with Chuck Traynor (Peter Sarsgaard), the man who brought her into the porn industry, is shown to be the driving force of the film.

In addition to the two leads, the trailer also gives us a look at much of the star-studded supporting cast, including: Adam Brody as Linda's costar Harry Reems; Sharon Stone and Robert Patrick as Linda's parents; Hank Azaria as Deep Throat director Gerard Damiano; Chloë Sevigny as a journalist who interviews Linda; and James Franco as Hugh Hefner.

Looking forward to both the dramatic moments and the dated hairdos? Check out the trailer and let us know what you think.
