Doctor Who's new Time Lord is…Prince Charles?

No, of course not. But the Prince of Wales and his wife, Camilla, visited the set of the BBC hit recently to take a tour and meet stars Matt Smith and Jenna Coleman.

"It was great to welcome The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall to set today," Smith said in a statement. "Showing them how to fly the TARDIS was a real treat and something I never thought I would be doing when I first took on the role. The Prince of Wales said he remembers watching the show when he was 15 and seemed very knowledgeable on the Who history, so it's nice to think they are watching."

Prince Charles and Camilla helped celebrate the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who by exploring the set and introducing themselves to several of the series villains. Prince Charles even did his best Dalek impression!

But it turns out, not even the royal family could get much scoop out of the cast. "Meeting The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall today was such an honor," Coleman said. "The Prince was particularly interested in the mechanics of how the TARDIS works and the storyline for the upcoming 50th anniversary special, but I didn't give too many secrets away."

Matt Smith recently announced he would be leaving the series after his final TARDIS bow in the 50th anniversary special in November. However, the BBC promises that he will make an appearance in the Christmas special, as well.
