More bad news for Paula Deen.
The disgraced chef's cookbook has been dropped by its publisher, despite the book currently being the No. 1 seller on Amazon.com.
Ballantine Books announced Friday publication has been canceled for Paula Deen's New Testament: 250 Favorite Recipes, All Lightened Up.
The 488-page recipe collection—which skyrocketed to the top of the best-seller list Thursday in light of Deen's recent N-word scandal—was due out Oct. 15.
In regards to the presales, a rep for Amazon.com tells E! News, "Customers will be notified that the publisher has cancelled this book. As the case with all Amazon.com pre-orders, customers' credit cards are not charged until the book is shipped/delivered."
Ballantine Books is the latest business to cut ties with the beleaguered star after the Southern chef admitted in a video deposition to using the N-word. The deposition is part of a $1.2 million lawsuit filed against Deen by a former employee.
Earlier today, Sears, Walgreens and JCPenny all made the decision to stop selling Paula's merchandise, while QVC posted a letter online, announcing its plans to "take a pause" in its dealings with Deen.
The 66-year-old star has also been dropped by Caesars Entertainment Corporation, which operates Deen-themed restaurants at four of its properties, and Smithfield Foods, as well as the Food Network.
Walmart also ended its professional relationship with Deen, while Target opted to "phase out" her merchandise and Novo Nordisk, a diabetes drug company for which Deen was a spokesperson, suspended their "patient activities" with the onetime business magnate, despite her tearful apology on the Today show Wednesday, where she insisted she's not a racist.
Last week, a writer for money-matters magazine told E! News Deen probably lost between $3 and $4.5 million due to being dropped just by the Food Network and Smithfield Foods alone.
A number of stars have expressed their sentiments in regards to Deen's very public downfall, with Martha Stewart admitting she "feels sorry" for Paula and comedian Kevin Hart saying the fallout has been "harsh."
But not all is lost for the celebrity chef—her cruise line, Parties at Sea with Paula Deen & Family, has added more dates in 2014 due to fan demand and her supporters have created a "We Support Paula" Facebook page, which currently has over 500,000 "likes."
