James Middleton, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie or even a famous friend might be tapped for this role

With the big annoucement made today that Prince George's christening will be taking place on Oct. 23, we now have a little over a month to play the "Who Will Be the Godparents?" game.

And while Prince William and Kate Middleton have reportedly asked good friend Guy Pelly to be one of their son's six godparents, that still leaves four openings.

Our two top guesses? Prince Harry and Pippa Middleton!

William and Kate are members of the Church of England (which is similar to—but not quite the same as—the Episcopalian faith). Traditionally, the godmother and godfather of their child will be present at the baby's christening. They are also supposed to serve as a spiritual guide and support system throughout their godson's life.

William's six godparents are King Constantine of Greece (Prince Philip's cousin), Princess Alexandra (Queen Elizabeth II's cousin), Lord Romsey (the grandson of Lord Mountbatten), the Duchess of Westminster (described as a close friend of Princess Diana's), Lady Susan Hussey (one of Queen Elizabeth's ladies-in-waiting) and Sir Laurens Van der Post (a South African-born author). Phew.

Kate was baptized at five months (so she most likely does have godparents—but their identity remains unknown). She was not, however, confirmed, so in 2011, she "decided to be confirmed as part of her marriage preparations," a St. James's Palace spokesman told The Telegraph.

In 1999, Wills became the godfather to Prince Konstantine Alexios of Greece (the child Crown Prince and Princess Pavlos). And lest we forget, Kate is the godmother of a cruise, called the Royal Princess, and was on deck for the ship's christening in June.

When it comes to their own child though, though, it seems like Aunt Pippa and Uncle Harry would be logical choices for the baby's godmother and godfather. After all, they were raised with the same beliefs and traditions as their siblings, and they were right alongside their siblings in Westminster Abbey at their April 2011 wedding.

There's also the possibility that Kate's brother, James Middleton, could be tapped as the godfather. Then again, maybe Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie or Zara Phillips will fulfill the role of godmother to the royal baby.

We can't dismiss the possibility, of course, that the godparents will not be blood relatives. Thomas van Straubenzee, the longtime friend of Harry and William, is an option, or even Joss Stone, a friend to both Kate and William.

Elton John and husband David Furnish, who attended the royal wedding, could be another possibility for godparents. Or what about David and Victoria Beckham, another U.K. power couple?

William and Kate have plenty of great choices. Our personal recommendation for the royal baby's godparents, however, is Beyoncé and Jay Z.
